 Silk Road, named in the middle of the 19th century by the German scholar Baron Ferdinand won Richthofen, which starts at the magnificent capital of Chang’an (Xi’an), ends at Rome in Italy, the total distance over seven thousands kilometers. The fearless caravans traveled along the inhospitable route on the face of earth, experienced the waterless desert, snow-bounded mountains and desolate Go-bi desert, they famed the Silk Road to be greatest route for exchange and communication of trade, culture, religion, and science technology between East and West.

 From its birth 1 century BC, through the heyday of the Tang Dynasty, until its decline 6 hundred years ago, the Silk Road has played important role for the development of human being’s civilization in the world. Now all the memories about the route have been a part of history. Only the historical relics and cultural heritages even remain ruins still tell the travelers many stories about the past. The caves, ancient towns, Great Wall, and museums are the forever charming attraction to the visitors.

Travel Tips


Please bring along warm clothing even in hot summer for temperature differs greatly between daytime and nights in some places on the route.

Bring shoes suitable for walking.

Itis advisable to use sunscreen, sunglasses and lip creams to protect your eyes and skin. The altitude is high and the atmosphere allow the sun's solar radiation to strike the earth with unusual intensity.

Xinjiang grows a rich of variety of fruit. People traveling there in autumn are provided chance to try the sweet fruit that are available in that region. It is recommended not to drink hot tea soon after eating fruit because it may cause in diarrhea.

Do not talk about sensitive issues such as religions and politics when in Xinjiang. Eating pork is forbidden under Islamic law. Xinjiang is home to most of Chinas Muslim population and eating pork is forbidden according to the Muslim canons.

The period from May to October is the best time to take this route. Weather condition is pleasant with the average temperature of 15 degree centigrade. The scenery is the best when fruit become ripe, the flowers in full bloom and grass in grassland turns to green.
